I have found that having a sauna helps my joints. Don't want to make you jealous but I have just spent 2 weeks in China & Hong Kong with temps of 80' F and 90+ humidity. Never felt so good!

Hi Judith. Yes it was great, although a lot of it was work. And a 13 hour flight isn't to be reccomended with RA. Your RA sounds exactly how mine came on, almost overnight 3 yrs ago now. My 'aniversary' is November 24th! I still remember the date! Luckily I had private medical insurance so got diagnosed v fast and, like you they threw everything at it and it's settled down. But to start with it was scary and bl***y painful!!! So good luck and keep in touch for mutual support. Stuart.xx
Hi Dtech
I thought you might be interested to read this 2009 study into the benefits of infrared saunas to those with RA. Infrared saunas are slightly different to traditional suanas in that they are heated by special infrared heaters rather than hot coals: springerlink.com/content/l8...
If you find the warmth helps your joints it may be worth finding out if you could be referred to a physiotherapist for some hydrotherapy sessions which involves doing special exercises in a warm-water pool. There is more information on hydrotherapy on the Arthritis Research UK website: arthritisresearchuk.org/art...
Kind regards
