Hi Sylvi, know what you mean. Adele has such a fantastic voice. Going to treat myself to her albums. I watched her concert from Albert Hall which was very good. Also listened to some of Whitney Houston's songs today. Her very famous "I'll always love you" brought tears to my eyes. What a waste of a life.

Sun is shining here and sky is a clear blue. But cold - wind is vicious - supposed to get warmer as the week goes on. I am actually virtually free of pain and aches at the moment - long may that continue but I don't suppose it will!. Love LavendarLady x

My brother sent me a dvd of ely i haven't looked at it yet,that will bring back memories for me.

Lovely Sunday here too, though a bit overcast and chilly. Temps are going above normal all this week.

Adele is lovely, I saw her for the first time at the Grammys. She will be here for a long time!
Saturday, not so pleasant. I immersed myself in the entire week of saying farewell to Whitney Houston. Watched all 4 hours of the funeral, or as they called it her 'Coming Home ceremony'
Kevin Costner, her co-star in "Body Guard" said so many wonderful things about her, as did Clive Davis, her promotor and mentor.
To me, Whitney Houston and her music, took me back to those days in the 80's when music filled the house, as 4 boys and their buddies were there and constantly had the stereo on. Seemed like so much of the lyrics of her music came from my heart in those days, and I often sang along with her! Belted out my version with her if no one else was around! Once in a while someone would arrive home while I'm belting and yell" Hey Whitney, what time is supper"? Cute
The albums I have of her are on cassettes, and my cassette players both seem to not want them, they pop out. So, intentions this week are to get a couple of the CDs if there are any left.
Her movie "The Bodyguard" was on last evening, watched the whole thing, fro 8 to 11pm, so gut wrenching and tear-jerking, I was exhausted. So sad to have to let a fulfilling love go away because her fans demanded her. She gave up so much of herself to all of her fans. No small wonder she fell into the abuse of drugs, trying to feel better. Maybe that love could have kept her from it. I don't think that was intended to be her biography, but it could have been.
